The Taoiseach has acknowledged that there are issues within An Garda Siochana as it relates to rostering and recruitment.
Leo Varadkar was responding to questions from Sinn Féin’s Justice Spokesperson Martin Kenny who has been once again highlighting the many difficulties currently being faced by the organisation.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has confirmed that he will grant an extension to the current contingency rostering system as a short term measure.
But Deputy Kenny says there needs to be long term plan to address problems within the force:
