Sligo maintain promotion push with London win

Sligo senior gaelic footballers maintained the push for promotion from Division 4 of the Allianz Football League on Sunday with a comfortable 1-10 to 0-4 over London in Ruislip.

The game also served as dress rehearsal for the forthcoming Connacht Championship meeting between the two counties on April 8th.

Paddy O’Connor’s first-half penalty set Sligo on their way as they established a 1-6 to 0-3 interval lead.

In a low-scoring second-half, Tony McEntee’s side were able to keep their opponents at arms length.

The only note of concern for the winners was an injury to Castleconnor’s Sean Carrabine, who went off injured towards the end of the first half.

The Sligo spoke spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Ray Lannon after the game.
