Calls for clarity in Manorhamilton regarding ACRES scheme

With over 70% of the land in the Manorhamilton Municipal District in the new ACRES scheme, one councillor is calling on the local authority to write to the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue to clarify if new commercial afforestation, construction of windfarms and the possibility of gold mining is now prohibited in the area.

Kinlough based councillor Justin Warnock has made the calls.

The Fianna Fail councillor says that with the objective of achieving improved biodiversity, climate, air and water quality outcomes, clarity from the Minister is needed.
