Sligo Athletic Club’s Lauren Cadden took silver in the final of the women’s 200 metres on Day 1 of the Irish Indoor Track & Field Championships in Dublin.
Cadden finished second behind Newport’s Sharlene Mawdsley.
Tir Chonaill AC’s Lucy McGlynn finished 4th in the same race, just outside the medals.
She later finished fifth in the 60m hurdles final.
Also on Saturday, Donegal’s Mark English qualified impressively for Sunday’s final of the men’s 800 metres.
His fellow county man Brendan Boyce won silver in the men’s 5k walk.
Tir Chonaill AC’s European Under-18 silver medallist Fintan Dewhirst was unable to take his place on the starting blocks for the 400m hurdles because of a hamstring injury.
