Uninsured motorist arrested in Donegal for drug-driving



A motorist in Donegal was arrested on Friday for suspected drug-driving and also for being not insured.

Gardai across the county carried out a series of ‘Roads Policing Day of Action’ checkpoints.

Officers in the Ballyshannon District arrested a driver for driving under the influence of drugs.

The driver had no insurance and their vehicle was seized.

Gardai have said that court proceedings will follow.

The arrest comes as Gardaí are warning motorists to drive carefully during the St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday weekend.

Twenty people have been killed on Irish roads so far this year.
