Sinn Féin MLA backs calls for cross border inquiry into Omagh astrocity

A Sinn Fein MLA has welcomed the British Government’s order of an independent inquiry into the Omagh bombing.

Fermanagh South Tyrone MLA Jemma Dolan says her party would support a  ull cross border inquiry into the atrocity.

29 people died, following the planting of a bomb by dissident republicans, in August 1998.

The UK government has announced an independent inquiry into bombing.

Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Heaton-Harris has confirmed he intends to establish the inquiry in response to a court judgment that directed the government to establish some form of investigation.

Minister for Justice Simon Harris said the Government will consider if there is any action it is required to take, following the announcement on establishing an inquiry.

Speaking to Ocean FM Jemma Dolan says the families of the victims deserve justice.
