Renewed hopes for retention of 9% VAT rate for hospitality sector



There are renewed hopes that the 9% VAT rate for the hospitality sector will be retained.

 

It’s after Minister for Tourism Catherine Martin has said she will seek a further extension of the VAT rate for the sector.

 

The current reduced rate is due to expire on 28 February and revert to the higher rate of 13.5% from 1 March with fears in the North West that it will ultimately lead to job losses.
