Cliffoney teenager Tom Murphy has been named as the Tides magazine Surfer of the Year for 2022.
Murphy, who’s 16, is a fifth year student at Summerhill College in Sligo.
He won the boys under-16 title at the recent Irish National Surfing Championships in Bundoran, and finished second overall in the Open senior event – behind fellow Sligo surfer Gearóid McDaid.
Murphy also helped Sligo win the national intercounties title in 2022.
