Local GAA community pays tribute to Seán Boyle



The GAA communities of Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon and Melvin Gaels, Kinlough, have been paying tribute to Ballyshannon native Seán Boyle who has died

He was 64.

Boyle passed away after becoming unwell while taking a walk on Rossnowlagh beach on Sunday morning.

Boyle was a noted player with St Joseph’s and Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon in the 1970s and 80s – and subsequently managed Aodh Ruadh to a senior championship success in 1994.

He later helped Melvin Gaels of Kinlough regain the Fenagh Cup in Leitrim in 1998, after a wait of 35 years.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later in the week.
