Leitrim beaten by New York in Connacht hurling shield final



Leitrim’s bid to retain the Connacht hurling shield title on Saturday came up short as New York ran out comprehensive winners at the Connacht GAA Air Dome on a final scoreline of 3-29 to 1-17.

The exiles dominated Saturday’s decider from start to finish, establishing a 2-30 to 1-9 interval lead against Olcan Conway’s side.

Later on Saturday, Galway’s development squad lifted the provincial cup title with victory over Roscommon.
