Donal Wrynn will captain the Leitrim senior gaelic footballers for the 2023 season.
The Fenagh/St Caillin’s clubman succeeds Leitrim Gaels David Bruen who has taken a year out from his intercounty career to go travelling.
Wrynn has been a mainstay of the senior football team for the past few seasons and was captain before in 2027.
He will lead Leitrim out at the Connacht GAA Air Dome this Friday evening when they take on Galway in their opening Connacht FBD league opener at 7pm.
Mark Diffley (St Mary’s) assumes the vice-captaincy for the year ahead.
Andy Moran’s side will begin the Allianz Football League Division 4 campaign on Sunday, January 29th, with a home game against Waterford.
