Johnny Kenny moves to Shamrock Rovers on loan

Johnny Kenny’s anticipated loan move to League of Ireland champions Shamrock Rovers was finally confirmed by the Tallaght club on Wednesday afternoon.

It’s a season-long loan deal.

The Riverstown native was subsequently loaned out to Queen’s Park (where he made 12 appearances without scoring) but now returns to the League of Ireland in search of more regular first team football not to mention the prospect of Champions League football with in the 2023 season.

Kenny spoke to Shamrock Rovers TV about his loan move…

Kenny’s first league appearance for Shamrock Rovers could, potentially, be against his hometown club as the champions are due to visit the Showgrounds to play Sligo Rovers on the opening weekend of the new Premier Division season (Feb 18th).
