Unsettled weather with the possibility of snow expected in the north west for Christmas.

Met Eireann are advising not to completely rule out the prospect of a white Christmas in the North West.

The weather leading up to and including Sunday will be somewhat unsettled in the north west with today being described as a ‘wash out’ in many parts.

Drier weather is expected to start with on Christmas Eve with blustery showers.

Christmas day is expected to turn cooler with frost likely.

Forecaster Siobhan Ryan says that she would not rule out a light fall of snow on high ground on St Stephens Day.
