National Crisis Management Team will oversee HSE’s response to surge in winter infections



The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Health Minister Stephen Donnelly are to discuss the surge in winter virus infections today.

 

The HSE says it’s expected to bring the highest pressure on the State’s health service that has EVER been seen in the coming weeks.

 

Sligo University Hospital has confirmed that it’s currently battling outbreaks of both flu and Covid-19.

 

Yesterday it was reported that there was 18 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

 

The HSE has set up a National Crisis Management Team to oversee the response, with the Government to meet over Christmas to consider re-introducing masks on public transport.
