Disruption to water supply in Drumshanbo

A reservoir interruption has led to intermittent water supply disruptions in Drumshanbo over the past number of days.

The lack of water has already impacted on both residential and business premises in the town this week.

Irish Water say they are making every effort to ensure that the alternative drinking water supply is provided to the impacted areas in Drumshanbo and other locations in Leitrim.

Drumshanbo based Councillor Enda McGloin says the recent cold spell of weather along with an increased demand has resulted in reservoir levels being low.

The Fine Gael councillor says the lack of water is impacting local businesses.

Water supply has been restored to Drumshanbo and businesses in the food hub are operating as normal today.
