Met Éireann has issued a status yellow weather advisory for cold and wintry weather for county Donegal.
The forecaster has warned of sharp to severe frosts and icy stretches on the roads at the beginning of the week, followed by falls of hail, sleet and snow are expected towards the end of the week.
Met Éireann has also said there is the potential for weather warnings to be issued in the coming days as they monitor the situation.
