Aughnasheelin beaten in Connacht semi-final



Leitrim intermediate football champions Aughnasheelin were knocked out of the Connacht club championship at the semi-final stage on Saturday following a 1-12 to 0-5 loss to St Dominic’s of Roscommon in Carrick-on-Shannon.

The Roscommon side controlled the game for most of the hour with Daire Keenan’s goal just before the interval putting real delight between the sides.

Dominic’s led by 1-8 to 0-3 at the start of the second-half and Aughnsheelin were unable to make any meaningful impression on the scoreboard from their to the end.

 

St Dominic’s will now face Dunmore MacHales of Galway, conquerors of St Molaise Gaels, in the Connacht intermediate club football final.
