Leitrim Councillor concerned over lack of speed limit signs



A Leitrim Councillor has raised concerns over the issue of the lack of speed limit signage on the N16 National Primary Road.

Leitrim Councillor Sean McDermott claims the Sligo section of the N16 has more signage than the Leitrim section to indicate the speed limit of 80km.

The Fine Gael councillor says when drivers enter a National Primary Road, they assume the speed limit is 100km.

Speaking to Ocean FM news Cllr McDermott says there is also confusion among local road users in the regions in relation to speed limits.

He says the lack of adequate sings has resulted in many unsuspecting drivers picking up speeding tickets:
