MCR beat holders Carbury in top-of-the-table clash



MCR continued their impressive start to the Southern Hotel Super League season with a 2-1 win against reigning champions Carbury FC at Ray MacSharry Park on Saturday night.

Goals from Donagh Crowne and Ciaran Harvey earned the three points for MCR who maintain their 100 per cent record at the top of the table.

Harvey, who was already on a booking prior to his goal, received a second yellow card for taking off his shirt during the goal celebration.

Carbury’s goal came from their top scorer Jason Lyons from the penalty spot in the closing moments but they were unable to find an equaliser and so suffer their first league defeat of the season.

Tbey now find themselves 11 points adrift of MCR who have yet to drop a point this season.
