Leitrim champions St Mary’s to face Tourlestrane in Connacht semi-final

Leitrim Connacht Gold senior football champions St Mary’s booked their place in next weekend’s Connacht club semi-final thanks to a 3-8 to 1-8 victory over St Kiernan’s of London in Saturday’s quarter-final played at McGovern Park in Ruislip.

Two goals in in added time from Jack Barnes and captain Nicolas McWeeney proved pivotal in this victory for the Leitrim champions, which now sets up a Connacht semi-final clash with Tourlestrane of Sligo next weekend.

It was a cruel finish on St Kiernan’s who had gone toe-to-toe with their opponents for much of the hour.

St Mary’s wore the Leitrim county jerseys in Saturday’s game.

Their semi-final against Tourlestrane will be played next Saturday, Nov 19th, at Avant Money Páirc Sheáin MacDiarmada in Carrick-on-Shannon.
