Easkey cruise into Connacht club hurling final

Sligo hurling champions Easkey are back in another Connacht junior club hurling final following Saturday’s emphatic 3-25 to 1-6 semi-final win over Carrick Hurling of Leitrim at Markievicz Park.

The writing was on the wall by half-time for the Leitrim champions as Easkey had established a 1-13 ro 0-3 lead – with Andy Kilcullen finding the net for the Sea Blues during that opening half.

It was a similar story in the second half as Michael Gordon’s side pulled well clear and Jimmy Gordon supplied the icing on the cake with a second goal for Easkey to see them run out 25-point winners.

Easkey now await the winners of Sunday’s Galway junior final between Ballygar and Salthill Knocknacarra.

The Connacht junior club hurling final is scheduled to be played in two weeks time.
