Taoiseach urged to provide update on plans for Sligo Garda Station



The Taoiseach is being urged to provide an update on plans for Sligo Garda Station.

 

It had been anticipated that a new facility would be built on the outskirts of the town as it’s thought that the current station located on Pearse road is outdated and inadequate.

 

It’s understood that a strategic assessment was promised to be undertaken by Garda Estate Management, however to date no assessment has been carried out.

 

Local Independent Cllr Marie Casserly believes that such an assessment will warrant the need for a new state of the art building:
