Serious concern raised over pressures facing Sligo University Hospital



Serious concern has been raised over issues currently being faced by Sligo University Hospital.

 

It’s been claimed that several ambulances were backed up at the facility yesterday, waiting to admit patients.

 

Management at the hospital also issued a statement yesterday, highlighting the extent of overcrowding and bed pressure in wards.

 

Local Fine Gael Cllr Thomas Walsh says the facility is under untold strain, resulting in both patients and staff being left in a very vulnerable position:
