Border Communities Against Brexit representative says new Prime Minister is a positive development

A representative from the ‘Border Communities against Brexit’ says the appointment of Rishi Sunak as UK Prime Minister could be a positive development in relation to the easing of tensions that currently exist over the Brexit agreement.

He’s replaced Liz Truss who earlier offered her resignation to King Charles earlier this morning.

It’s expected that a number of new people will be promoted to the top jobs, though it’s believed Jeremy Hunt is staying on in the Treasury portfolio.

Speaking to Ocean FM news Damien McGenity says Rishi Sunak realises that the UK economy is in a bad state and does not need a trade war with Europe.
