Donegal TD claims competition for housing is leading to the perfect storm

A Donegal TD is warning of real competition currently in existence when it comes to securing accommodation in Ireland.

Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn made the comments as the coalition party leaders and some senior ministers are meeting today to discuss the Ukrainian refugee crisis.

43 refugees were told Ireland had no state accommodation for them on Friday and Saturday, after arriving here.

Speaking to ocean FM the Sinn Fein TD says in Donegal there are people in accommodation not fit for purpose.

He claims it’s unfortunate that people in different circumstances are in direct competition for the limited supply of housing that is currently available.
