Taoiseach clashes with Donegal TD over mica supports



The Taoiseach has accused a Donegal TD of creating a narrative that the Government is out to get people affected by Mica.

 

The comments were made in the Dáil as the levy is set to be cut to 5 per cent and its introduction has been delayed.

 

It will now take effect from the first of September next year however there are fears that the levy will still hit people who want to build houses.

 

The Taoiseach says the ambition is to have the revised scheme rolled out by years end.

 

Speaking in the Dáil, Deputy Thomas Pringle says the overall plan for the delivery of the scheme has not been thought through:
