Local biologist warns of dangers of poor water quality



There’s been a further drop in the quality of Ireland’s rivers lakes, estuaries, and coastal waters.

That’s according to a report from the Environmental Protection Agency, which says just half of the nation’s waters are in a satisfactory condition.

Standards have fallen by 16 per cent in estuaries, 10 per cent in coastal waters, 3 per cent in lakes and 1 per cent in rivers.
