A former Leitrim TD and Senator has expressed his confidence that Deputy Marc MacSharry will return to the Fianna Fáil party.
The return of the Sligo Leitrim TD seemed to move a step closer last night after it was reported that a parliamentary party meeting cleared the way for his return.
It’s expected that a motion will now be tabled by Party Whip Jack Chambers to propose Marc MacSharry’s return.
Deputy MacSharry has declined to comment on the latest reports.
John Ellis served as senator and as a Fianna Fáil TD in the Sligo Leitrim constituency.
Speaking to Ocean FM news he says Fianna Fáil would stand a stronger chance of securing a seat in the next general election with Marc MacSharry on the ticket.
