Man appears in court over incident at home of Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny



A 49-year-old man has appeared at a special sitting of Sligo District Court on charges arising out of an incident at the home of Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny.

Charged before a sitting of the court with causing criminal damage and dangerous driving, Caillin Curran of Drumharkin, Fenagh County Leitrim is also charged with damaging metal gates, the property of deputy Kenny and his wife Helen on September 29th.

Deputy Kenny’s wife was the sole occupant of the house when the incident occurred shortly after 2am.

The defendant, who was represented by Mr. Gerard McGovern was remanded on his own bail of €200 by Judge Éiteáin Cunningham to appear at Carrick on Shannon District Court on October 18th.
