Tánaiste ‘frustrated’ over no prosecutions for defective building blocks



The Tánaiste says he’s frustrated there have been no prosecutions of people involved in making defective building blocks.

 

It comes after the government introduced a 10 per cent levy on concrete in yesterday’s budget.

 

The 80 million euro raised will partly be used to fund the mica redress scheme to repair the many defective homes in the North West.

 

Enterprise Minister Leo Varadkar says he would like more action taken against those responsible for the defects:
