A Leitrim Councillor is warning that many businesses are in danger of winding down to the current costs of energy and products.
Manorhamilton MD councillor Felim Gurn says the energy crisis poses a serious threat to the sustainability of many small to medium-sized enterprises.
The Independent Councillor says the timing of these challenges on the back of the Covid pandemic is putting many businesses to the pin of their collar.
Cllr Gurn says supports similar to the ones that were put in place in response to the Coronavirus are needed. The Manorhamilton-based Councillor acknowledges such assistance would be expensive for the government but says the alternative would have far greater devastating effects on the economy.
