Sligo College appeals for community assistance

St. Angela’s College in Sligo has issued a plea to homeowners to offer spare rooms and accommodation ahead of the new academic year.

The call is being made as the number of CAO applicants receiving an offer of a place at college has risen this year.

Those receiving an offer of a place on their first preference course has also risen.

As a result, both staff and the students union at St. Angelas are deeply concerned over the lack of student accommodation for this current academic year.

The community of Sligo is being urged to consider renting out rooms in a bid to ease the crisis.
