Tourlestrane into Sligo SFC semi-finals after Coolera/Strandhill win



County champions Tourlestrane remain firmly on course for a seventh consecutive senior championship title in Sligo after they beat Coolera/Strandhill by 1-15 to 1-12 in a repeat of the 2021 final on Saturday evening at Markievicz Park to assure themselves of a place in the knockout stages.

Fergal O’Donnell’s side have now made it three wins from three in Group 2 and are assured of a place in the last four regardless of their final group game next weekend.

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point are on the verge of joining them in the semi-finals from Group 2 after they hit St Farnan’s for seven goals in a 7-11 to 0-8 victory at Kent Park.

Rosses Point teenager Danny Cronin impressed, netting four of the north Sligo’s sides goals.

 

The north Sligo club now move onto five points, one behind Tourlestrane and the two teams meet next weekend.

Coolera/Strandhill are now relying on a a big win against St Farnan’s in their final game, as well major points difference swing towards them and away from DRP, if they are to progress to the knockout stages.
