Sligo Rovers lose 5-2 to Galway



Sligo Rovers were beaten 5-2 by Galway in Saturday’s SSE Airtricity Womens National League game at the Showgrounds.

Paula McGrory scored twice for the home side in an entertaining opening 45 minutes which saw the game tied at 2-2.

However, the visitors were the stronger team in the second half and scored three times to claim the three league points.

Elsewhere, leaders Shelbourne lost 1-0 at home to Peamount to surrender top spot in the league table.

Wexford Youths are the new leaders after their 5-1 win against Cork City.
