Kilcar to play Killybegs in Donegal SFC quarter-final

The pairings for the quarter-finals of this year’s Donegal Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure senior football championship have thrown up some enticing fixtures in two weeks time.

Killybegs’ prize for beating Cloughaneely on Sunday in the concluding round-robin game (3-12 to 0-13) is a last-eight meeting with neighbours Kilcar.

Aodh Ruadh will take on Gweedore while county champions St Eunan’s will play St Michael’s.

The fourth quarter-final sees Naomh Conaill take on Michael Murphy and Glenswilly.

The latter came from behind to beat Ardara by 1-14 to 1-10 on Sunday to make sure of their quarter-final spot.

Damien Devaney’s Ardara must now prepare for the relegation play-offs, which will also include Bundoran, Milford and St Naul’s.

Elsewhere, the intermediate championship quarter-finals will be played next weekend, with Naomh Columba set to play Buncrana on Sunday afternoon in O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny, at 2pm.
