No more dog days on Blue Flag beaches



Questions are being asked over how a proposed dog ban on Donegal’s Blue flag beaches is going to be policed.

 

Dogs could be prohibited from going on Blue Flag beaches in Donegal next year, as new proposals could be brought forward to change the bye laws that apply to beaches.

 

Twelve beaches in Donegal are set to be impacted by the move, including Bundoran, Rossnowlagh and Murvagh.

 

If approved, it could mean dogs will not be permitted on Blue Flag beaches for a period each day from June 1st to September 15th each year.

 

But Bundoran Cllr Michael McMahon believes that there needs to be further discussion on the plans:
