Sligo Rovers get morale-boosting 2-0 win over Dundalk



Sligo Rovers returned to winning ways in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division on Monday night with a 2-0 win against Dundalk at the Showgrounds.

The visitors played the majority of the game with 10 players after defender Darragh Leahy was red carded for a last-man foul on the edge of the centre circle.

Rovers took the lead after strong pressure from Man of the Match Aidan Keena forced Andy Lyons to turn the ball into his own net.

Then, fine approach play from substitute Kailan Barlow and Keena set up the industrious Frank Liivak (picturedfor his first goal for the club since joining mid-season.

In the night’s other games, St Patrick’s Athletic beat Bohemians 3-1 at Dalymount Park while Derry City won 1-0 at Shelbourne.
