Ocean FM receives unprecedented 9 nominations in IMRO National Radio Awards



Ocean FM has received an unprecedented 9 nominations in this year’s IMRO National Radio Awards.

 

Three of its weekday shows have been nominated, as has Ocean’s News and Sports Coverage.

 

The Francie Boylan Show has been nominated as Best Magazine Programme and as Radio Moment of the Year for Hold onto your Hat with David and Francie.

 

The Breakfast Club with Kevin Blessing and Margaret Carr Flynn is shortlisted as Best Breakfast Programme.

 

North West Today with Niall Delaney has been shortlisted as best local current affairs programme.

 

The Ocean FM Evening News is nominated as Best Local News Programme.

 

Sports Editor, Austin O’Callaghan, has been shortlisted as Local Sports Broadcaster of the Year, while his Sunday Sport show is nominated as Best Local Sports Programme.

 

The Balancing Act – Women in Irish Politics, with Aisling Heraughty, is shortlisted as Best Short Feature.

 

While Ocean FM’s involvement in the Irish Music Month initiative is nominated in the IMRO Irish Music Programme category.

 

Ocean’s previous highest number of nominations was 7, back in 2013.

 

The awards will be presented at the Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny on 7th October next.
