The Roads Department of Sligo County Council is to carry out further assessments of the Ballinode crossroads in Sligo.
The junction has been the scene of numerous crashes in the recent past.
Local Cllr Arthur Gibbons says while the Council intends to carry out a survey to see if extra measures can be put in place, ultimately the root of the majority of issues there is driver behaviour.
Cllr Gibbons says it’s an area where extra caution is needed and is calling on road users to be mindful:
