Carrick-on-Shannon one of worst hit in driving tests backlog



Carrick-on-Shannon has one of the worst waiting times for driving tests in the country.

 

The Leitrim town was one of three nationwide that has a backlog of 14 weeks.

 

The new figures released by the Road Safety Authority under the Freedom of Information Act show nearly 46,500 people are waiting to sit their driving test.

 

But some rural areas have short waiting times of three or four weeks.
