Sligo Rovers duo Aidan Keena and Emma Doherty have won the Player of the Month award for their individual performances in the SSE Airtricity League and Women’s National League in July.
It is the first time two players from the one club have won the Player of the Month award for the same month.
It is the second Player of the Month award in 2022 for Keena as he previously received the honour in March.
Keena’s tally of 11 goals currently place the Mullingar native as the top scorer in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
Keena also netted twice in Rovers’ recent Europa Conference League run to the Third Qualifying Round.
Emma Doherty, similar to Sligo Rovers Women’s team is in her debut season in the SSE Airtricity Women’s National League.
The Buncrana native has found the back of the net on 9 occasions so far this season, including 5 in June and July.
Doherty also has received international recognition in recent weeks after she received a first senior call-up to the Republic of Ireland Senior Women’s National Team for an upcoming home-based training camp.
