Gardai in Donegal have issued a warning over a scam that’s doing the rounds.
In a statement, they say that they have received a number of reports that missed calls are being received from a (+94) prefix number.
Gardai say that should people receive a call from this type of number, to ignore it and do not return the call.
They say that it sounds like a Wangiri Scam whereby a phone rings once and once you return the missed call, you will be re-routed to premium rate number overseas and will be subsequently billed exorbitant rates for the privilege of listening to pre-recorded messages.
