Student Union President warns of accommodation crisis in Sligo



The Students Union President at the Atlantic Technological University in Sligo is calling on private home-owners and landlords to consider renting rooms and houses to students as accommodation enquires by 300%.

 

 

The ATU student union has received 1300 quires ahead of the coming academic year – a sharp climb compared to the 300 to 400 they received at the same stage last year.

 

This unprecedented raise is due to Sligo securing university status.

 

 

Of the 1700 purpose built accommodation, 8% will be provided to refugees escaping the war in Ukraine who are already using the accommodation.
