A Sligo Councillor is urging hill and mountain walkers in the North West to be mindful of dangerous terrain and to stick to the safer paths.
The Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue team has attended several call outs this summer, assisting casualties to safety.
It’s expected that large numbers will take to the mountains again this weekend with the country enjoying another heat wave.
Cllr Donal Gilroy is encouraging those thinking on heading out for a hike to stick to more commonly used routes and to also take note of what could be private property.
