Sligo Rovers came from 2-0 down to beat leaders Shelbourne 3-2 in Saturday evening’s televised SSE Airtricity Women’s National League game at the Showgrounds.
Pearl Slattery’s header and Alex Kavanagh’s free-kick put Shels two-nil in front in a first-half which they largely controlled – but Rovers winger Gemma McGuinness pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time.
Then, Emma Doherty struck for the first of two second-half goals eight minutes after the restart – and Buncrana woman popped up again on the hour to fire home what proved to be the matchwinner.
