Bunninadden promoted to Division 1

Bunninadden clinched promoted to Division 1 of the Furey’s Coaches senior football league in Sligo on Sunday with a 1-16 to 1-14 victory over Owenmore Gaels.

They had to come from three points down in the closing stages to get the win – with Oisin Gorman’s two scores in that closing period proving key.

The win ensure a Division 2 league final against Curry next Sunday in Markievicz Park (4pm) – and more important promotion to Division 1 for the first time in seven year.

Bunninadden manager Willie Gormley spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Donal Ryan after the win:

In Division 1, Coolera/Strandhill booked their place in next Saturday’s league final thanks to an emphatic 4-11 to 0-9 victory over St Molaise Gaels in Grange.

Coolaney/Mullinabreena have been relegated despite to Division 2 their 1-12 to 0-14 win over St Mary’s at Kent Park.
