Doorly Park Residents’ Association granted leave to apply for Judicial Review of Council decision

The High Court in Dublin has granted the Doorly Park Residents’ Association leave to apply for Judicial Review of the decision by Sligo County Council not to update the Environment Impact Study for the new bridge over the Garavogue at Doorly Park.

The Residents’ Association had raised concerns last year over the Environment Impact Study which was dated from November 2007.

They claimed that the study relied on scientific evidence which was out of date with regard to current environmental legislation and Directives.

The case is expected to be back in court on the 8th November.

In a statement to Ocean FM News Sligo Council confirmed that it is aware that that Doorly Park Residents Association was granted leave to apply for a Judicial Review

The Local Authority says they will be making no further comment in advance of the scheduled court date.
