Max Mata agrees contract extension with Sligo Rovers



Sligo Rovers New Zealand striker Max Mata has has committed his future to the club by signing a two-and-a-half year contract extension, which will keep him at the Showgrounds until the end of the 2024 season.

The 22-year-old, who has four senior international caps with New Zealand, joined the club in February after spells in Estonia and America and has scored five goals so far this season.

Speaking to sligorovers.com, Mata said: ‘’I am happy to have extended my contract here at Sligo Rovers.

”I’m excited to be working with good people and I am excited for what the future holds.

”I can’t wait to continue my development here.’’

Rovers continue their Europa Conference League campaign this Thursday when they take a 1-0 lead into their home leg against Scottish Premier League side Motherwell (kick-off: 7pm).
