Donegal Masters lose to Tyrone

Donegal Masters gaelic footballers suffered their first defeat in the group stage of the competition on Wednesday night when they lost to to Tyrone in Convoy on a final scoreline of 0-13 to 0-11.

The result means Tyrone, who remain unbeaten with six wins from six, are now through to the All-Ireland masters semi-finals.

Donegal, with five wins and one loss, are level on points with Dublin and Clare and there will be a draw on Thursday night.

The first team out will get a bye to the semi-final while the other two will have to play-off for the other semi-final spot.

This match had been originally fixed for last Saturday but was postponed as a mark of respect for Garda Charlie Gallagher who passed away last weekend and was a regular fixture on the Donegal Masters panel for many years.

A minute’s silence in memory of Charlie was held before the start of Wednesday night’s game.
