Enniscrone Lifeguards called into action again

Lifeguards at Enniscrone beach were called to assist 6 swimmers that got into difficulty at the popular bathing location yesterday evening.

It’s understood that all of the swimmers were safely removed from the water and no injuries were reported.

This is the second incident in recent days where lifeguards were called to assist people from the water at Enniscrone.

Concerns are being expressed that swimmers are ignoring safety warnings that are in place at the popular tourist location including red flags which advise people not to swim.

One particular location at the bathhouse  is understood to be particularly dangerous at certain times.

Pete Murtagh is the water safety development officer with Sligo County Council he once again emphasised the importance of following safety notices that may in place in beaches.
